KedarNath

Kedarnath is a sacred town located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Hindus and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here’s an overview of Kedarnath:

   • Kedarnath is one of the Char Dham Yatra destinations and holds immense religious significance in Hinduism.
   • The town is home to the Kedarnath Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and is believed to have been built by the Pandavas from the Mahabharata.
2. Kedarnath Temple:
   • The Kedarnath Temple is a stone edifice that stands amidst the majestic Himalayan peaks. It is situated near the Mandakini River at an altitude of approximately 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level.
   • The temple opens its doors to devotees during the summer months (usually from April/May to November), and during the winter, the deity is moved to Ukhimath.
