- Chopta: Popularly known as the “Mini Switzerland of India,” Chopta is a picturesque hill station with lush meadows, dense forests, and captivating views of the Himalayan peaks. It’s also the starting point for the trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and Chandrashila, a summit offering panoramic vistas.
This triad of destinations combines spirituality, adventure, and natural beauty, making it an unforgettable experience for pilgrims and travelers alike.
Tour Plan
- Drive: 205 km / Approx. 8 hours
- Begin your journey early from Haridwar towards Guptkashi, enjoying the scenic views of the river Mandakini and the lush valleys en route.
- Check into your hotel at Guptkashi. Spend the evening at leisure or explore the local temples, including Vishwanath Temple.
- Overnight stay at the hotel.
- Drive: 30 km / Approx. 2 hours | Trek: 17 km (one way)
- Early morning, drive to Sonprayag, the nearest point accessible by private vehicle, and then take a local vehicle to Gaurikund.
- Start your trek to Kedarnath on a well-paved trail. Options for pony, palki, or helicopter rides are also available.
- On reaching Kedarnath, check into your camp or hotel. Freshen up and visit Kedarnath Temple to seek blessings and participate in the evening aarti.
- Explore nearby attractions such as Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi.
- Overnight stay in Kedarnath.
- Trek: 17 km (downhill) | Drive: 30 km / Approx. 2 hours
- Participate in the morning aarti and abhishek at Kedarnath Temple.
- Post breakfast, trek down to Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi.
- Check into your hotel and relax after the trek.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Guptkashi.
- Drive: 40 km / Approx. 1 hour | Trek: 3 km (one way)
- After breakfast, drive to Chopta, known as the "Mini Switzerland of India."
- Begin your trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan views.
- Extend your trek to Chandrashila, just 1.5 km ahead, for panoramic vistas of snow-clad peaks.
- Return to Chopta, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight in camps amidst nature.
- Drive: 170 km / Approx. 5 hours
- After breakfast, proceed to Badrinath, visiting scenic spots and temples en route, including Vasudev Temple, Vandevi Temple, and Hanuman Chatti.
- On arrival at Badrinath, check into your hotel and freshen up.
- Take a holy dip in Tapt Kund and seek blessings at Badrinath Temple.
- In the evening, attend the temple aarti and explore nearby attractions like Mana Village (India's last village), Vasudhara Falls, and Bhim Pul.
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Badrinath.
- Drive: 310 km / Approx. 8 hours
- After breakfast, visit the temple once more to offer prayers and take in the serene surroundings of the Nar-Narayan mountain ranges.
- Begin your return journey to Haridwar, passing through picturesque landscapes and towns.
- Upon reaching Haridwar, your memorable pilgrimage concludes.
